Our Concept
When we conceived and designed this venue in 1992, we looked at the (national) cultural context which we were in; therefore the design had to relate to Asian culture.
We were concerned to be sensitive to the tropical environment, by maximizing shading and the use of thermal mass for cooling.
The activities within the various buildings would add further cultural layers as we linked to these potential references. Whether Thai, Indian, or restaurant or meeting place. We saw the whole complex as a “ Caravansary” ( as on the legendary Silk route ) a meeting place which is secure ( enclosing ) welcoming and multi cultural , using antiques and artifacts from the traders and trader cultures who visited this region. We stressed diversity and multiculturalism in a sensual, friendly environment where you can meet, eat, drink and talk, face to face in a calm secure atmosphere.
Our Cuisine
Face Jakarta has established it self as an institution in the culinary world of the Indonesian capital. Started more than a decade ago ,as one of the original Pan Asian high end casual dining with Face Bar and Northern Indian restaurant, it became quickly popular among locals, expatriates and business men for it's hollistic approach to cuisine, design and impecable service.
Lanna Thai is known for it's Classic approach to Thai cuisine, with it's signature dishes like
Gai Hor Bay Toey, Pla Nung Manow,Pad Thai and the classic Mango Sticky Rice. Our Chef Som Chai and his team invites you to experience his native cuisine.
Our Indian cuisine represents the rich diversity of Northern India with our signature dishes Punjabi Samosa, Murgh Makhni Saag Paneer and from our Tandoor oven Murgh Peshwari .Our Chef Taman and his team ensures for you a culinary experience.
