Face Bar, with its associated Thai, Moroccan, and Indian restaurants, is set within the DongJiao State Guest Hotel compound (www.dongjiaohotel-shanghai.com), a secluded location inside an extensive landscaped park inclusive of lakes and miniature bamboo forests, with little or no traffic nearby.

Located near LongDong Avenue, on the way to Pudong International Airport, and close to Zhangjiang Hightech Park and Jinqiao Biyun Area, the walls give no indication of a compound enclosing a series of formal gardens, hotel buildings, and residential housing.

To reach Face Pudong, one enters through the main gates of the compound to follow a tree-lined road alongside of the main lake. Face Pudong is tucked away in an exclusive environment that caters to heads of state all over the world.

Face Pudong consists of several buildings with garden and outside terraces.
The main building is two stories: Face Bar on the ground floor; LanNa Thai (Classical Thai Cuisine), The Lounge (private and quiet rooms), El Wajh (Moroccan Restaurant), and The Silk Road (our multifunctional event hall) on the first floor.

The special experience guests enjoy at Face owes much to the commitment and friendliness of staff; the multi racial - Hindus, Muslims, Christian and Buddhist - team at Face wants to ensure that all our guests are made welcome and feel comfortable and relax during their stay.

We pride ourselves on the high and exclusive standards of our foods. All restaurants are served by extensive and dedicated kitchen facilities, fully fitted with tiles, enameled steel ceilings. All kitchens are managed and staffed by nationals of the cuisine producing menus and flavors authentic to the cuisine. Face promotes a no MSG or food coloring rule in their kitchens to ensure that the layers of natural flavors in the fresh, quality ingredients are experienced to the full. The Group’s coconut milk, prominent in Thai cuisine, is specially sourced and herbs and spices are regularly flown in from their respective native countries. The kitchens are of course open for inspection.

The styles of cooking reflect the rich culinary heritages of Thailand, North India, Morocco, and Japan. True to the historical influences from China and India, traditional seasonings based on the use of fresh herbs and roots and dried toasted spices provide dishes with authentic textures and flavors which guests return to savor again and again.

What characterizes Face above all is this holistic approach. The design, the setting; the style of drinks; the authenticity of cuisines; the friendly and gracious service; all come together to provide a relaxing yet lively ambience.

Our venues provide a resting place for those that trade and follow the 747 trade routes of today, our bar and restaurants are the caravanserais of the 21st century. Here the traders can relax and get to know each other culturally rich surroundings.
